After many years in development, it was a great pleasure to see JOE CINQUE'S CONSOLATION being selected as the opening film for 2016's Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF). Leading up to the festival, the organisers announced that all of the film's screenings had sold out in record time, which was a strong indication to how highly anticipated this film was in its home country. I was unfortunately unable to make it to the screening due to work schedule (and the time it takes to fly all the way to Melbourne!), but it was great to see some good reviews following the launch, including this one.
I may not have been able to travel to Australia, but in this period I was also commissioned to compose the original music for the launch of the commemorative coin for the 90th birthday of HRH Queen Elizabeth, by the Royal Australian Mint.
Another trip I would love to have taken was to the SOHO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, where the short film FISH & CHICKS by ELISE MCLEOD and JULIE GRUMBACH that I scored last year was the festival opener. It also went on to win the prize for best short film, which was an excellent start for the festival circuit for this charming short.
Last but not least, I also worked on EMMA, a new original series on TF1 in France directed by Alfred Lot. With an original score by composer Nathaniel Méchaly, I came on board to compose and produce additional music and incidental songs for the pilot episodes.
